MILLWALL V BLACKBURN 06.3.21
The Lions come into this one in decent form with only 1 defeat in our last 10 games. That defeat was also at the hands of high flying Barnsley at Oakwell last weekend which is no disgrace given the form they are currently on. We also rarely get anything against the Tykes so a defeat was no shock.
During the week we bounced back and picked up a much needed 3 points against another Lancashire side in Preston, keeping our slim hopes of a late play-off push alive. I do think though we will need to perform much better today if we are to pick up a similar result, Blackburn have far more dangerous players at their disposal.
Having said that, today's visitors are on an awful run of form. Tony Mowbray's men have lost 6 of their last 7 games and will be heading to South London low on confidence, quite happy to escape with a point before the game even kicks off I would imagine.
It is quite surprising seeing them struggle so much lately given the wealth of attacking talent they have in their side. We have all seen Adam Armstrong score against Millwall numerous times, Bradley Dack always turns up against us too. Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott scored a stunning effort against us in the reverse fixture at Ewood Park, whilst also making his pro debut at The Den for Fulham when he was only 15 years old! So we are well aware of today's opponents and the damage they can cause.
It would be just like Millwall to help Blackburn back into form, we have seen it many a time.
Need a goal? Come and play us! Need an away win or a win in general? You can bet your arse 9 x out of 10 The Lions will assist you! So forgive me if I am not as confident as I perhaps should be given the form book!
Here is how I think we will line up today.
GK - Bart Bialkowski
RWB - Mahlon Romeo
CB - Jake Cooper
CB - George Evans
CB - Shaun Hutchinson
LWB - Scott Malone
CM - Ryan Woods
CM - Billy Mitchell
CAM (free role) - Jed Wallace
ST - Jon Dadi Bodvarsson
ST - Mason Bennett
Score Prediction: I think we will add to our long list of draws and will go for a score of 1-1
I think that this is one of the only games that rovers have a chance of winning in the next couple of weeks. With lots of hard games coming up for rovers, we must take every game we can.
Millwall have had some promising performances playing the 3,4,3 so I think they will play this formation against rovers. I think Blackburn will play a 4,3,3 although we have played a lot of different formations this season.
Overall, after backing rovers last game and having a disappointing result it has got to the point we’re I can’t predict a rovers win. I think the final score will be 2-0 to Millwall.
